I am having a similar experience in dealing with their NY store. Their service is awful as is their product. They do not return phone calls even when they promise to. I've been waiting over four months for a suit I purchased in May. Whatever you do, do not do business with Sartoriani. Be smart stay away

Its October 25, 2010: Dealing the NYC store - and dealing with the same extact issue as you. Its been over almost 10 months and still no suit.
I get the go around, receive the phone call that the suit is done and when you go to pick it up they can't locate it. You get so angry that you have to laugh this whole matter off. But I am certainly going to take action because this is really uncall for.

They made my suit and they did and absolute horrid job--the Men's Wearhouse did a better job. They were going to make it again but called me and told me they decided to pass on making it again. I asked for a refund and have been assured one but now, 7 weeks later and nearly one hundred phone calls where they only returned my phone call twice it is obvious no refund is forthcoming. So it is off to small claims court where I will win but it will take months to do so. AVOID THESE GUYS--it is not true custom made and they are unethical!

I wish I had know about this flim flam oeration before buying a couple suits. In June 2010 on a flight from Washington to London I read an advert about them. I went and ordered two suits. It is now January 2011 and all I have gotten from them is a continuation of lies. I learned last night that they are now out of business!

Horrible people, horrible company.

This company is now in bankruptcy and i am out $5000!!
Wish I had read this blog before going into their impressive NYC showroom. Its hard to believe that a company that spent so much on advertising in the FT, WSJ was a sham......

Andrea Del Pino and Peter Opie, the criminals behind Sartoriani, are opening another sham operation in the area soon, without the gang leader Ricky Kripalani, this time. They essentially stole thousands from us so I will not allow that to happen. Stay tuned for details...

I am a former employee of Sartoriani and I have to say that we suffered as much, maybe even harder than the clients. We were fighting for clients to get their suits or money back, absorbed all their anger and insults, while waiting for our own salaries (which were not paid in the end). I don't like how "alteration" mentions certain names here who have nothing to do with the criminal Ricky Kripalani. They were, like me, just employees of the company.

I completely agree. They never returned calls, when the suits arrived in NY (I had them fitted in London 8 months earlier) they certainly were not cut to my shape at all and had to be done all over...at my expense because they were going out of business. They continuall lied and misrepresented themselves. Peter Opie, Marissa and Andrea were the people I unfortunately had to deal with in the US. Manuela Machthuemer in the London store just blew me off.

I ordered two suits around 2003 at "Prince of Wales" in Vienna. Never got them ofcourse as the business was run by Ricky Kripalani; interestingly enough I still have the business card of Manuela Machthuemer from that store.
Unbelievable how long such a fraud can go on.
